Really fascinating. An American podcast I listen to have explored the satanic panic in the US a lot, but I have never really thought much about how things unfolded over here, never mind in Hull. Will look forward to the next instalment. Funnily enough, the same podcast did quite recently cover Bruce Lee in as series about arsonists, which I found so interesting as most people living in Hull don't seem to have heard of him, despite his status as arguably one of Britain's worst serial killers. Shame the dark history museum didn't survive because there is so much to delve into!
I lived on Hessle Road the same time as Bruce Lee , we all knew and heard about all the mysterious fires that occurred,lots of people sadly died, surprised that he’s not more known .
So many people literally lost their lives, or were still injured, traumatised and displaced. Lee pled guilty to 26 counts of manslaughter - notably, no satanic influence required. Just a very messed up person, and authorities that were ill-equipped to help him, or victims. One hopes things are better now.
