Thank you, Angus, for shining some light on the rather opaque world of Deform UK candidates.

That’s a fascinating read- I’ve seen the lab/lib fb posts but didn’t realise just how tenuous a link some of these people had to their qualifying criteria

Interesting how the last government went to great lengths to legislate on voter ID (to address a problem most commentators thought didn’t exist) yet seems disinterested in local election candidates being ineligible to stand (an issue that clearly does exist). There is absolutely no point in making rules and regulations without a mechanism to enforce them. As an aside, one would hope that voters in the wards mentioned will consider carefully if they should support candidates who seem quite happy to flaunt the rules.

Okay? Who is “Judge Judy and Executioner”?

Heard of Judge, jury and executioner but not this person.

If folk have the info you provided, I'm confident that most will be “Judge Judy & Executioner” regarding the interloper candidates.

Like planning rules, elections be it national or local need a major update. I personally don't care if a person lives in the ward or not but they at the minimum should reside in the town/city they are standing in. I can only guess they are wetting their feet ready for the all out East Riding elections that are due soon. Let's see where their abode is then.
